With Mother’s Day just around the corner (Sunday 11th March) we want to share some amazing gifts ideas which you can make at home and that your mum will love.
Pine Wood Board (The Size That You Would Like Your Photo Board)
Gorilla Glue Super Glue Gel
Stain / paint the board with the colour of your choice. Once dry, sand the edges of the board to give it an antique look. Glue your bulldog clips down on the board where you would like to add the photos. Just a few dabs on the back of each clip should do it. Add the picture hooks to the back of the board and you’re all set to clip on your photos, memories or whatever you’d like.
Watering Can or Milk Tin
Metal Spray Paint (2 colours)
Spray the watering can or milk tin making sure it has full coverage. Once dry, gentle place or tape your chosen stencil and gentle spray using the second colour. It’s as easy as that! If you’re feeling confident in your painting skills, why not scrap the stencil and paint a quote or flowers instead.
Vintage Tea Cups (With Saucers)
Candle Wax Flakes
Note: If you would like scented candles you’ll need fragrance oil scents and to add colour you’ll need colouring.
Ensure that your teacups are clean and thoroughly dry. Measure your candle flakes (half a teacup of flakes will fill the cup once melted). Put your wick in the teacup, the metal based should be flat against the bottom and then use your wooden skewers to hold them up by placing the skewers across the top of the teacup and taping the ends to the skewers.
Melt the wax as per the instructions. Once the wax is clear and melted, this is when you can add your colouring and scents (if required)
Pour the wax into your teacups and fill until they are about half an inch from the top. Let the wax cool and set for a few hours. Then your gift is ready to be enjoyed.
Glass Paint / Spray
Vinyl Shape / Sticker / Electrical Tape
Clear Spray Paint
Ensure that your jar is clean and thoroughly dry. Create your picture frame window (ensuring it’s the right size for your photo) by placing the vinyl shape, sticker or electrical tape to the outside of the jar (the area you don’t want painted). Paint or spray the outside of the jar and immediately remove your vinyl, sticker or electrical tape. Do not wait until the paint is dry. Place your chosen photo inside the new window frame inside the jar and secure with tape. To add durability to the paint, spray it with a clear spray paint.
Place the plastic cup inside the jar, fill the cup with water, and place your flowers in the cup. Or if you don’t want to use flowers, place an LED candle inside the jar for a different effect!
These are just a couple of ideas of lovely gifts for your mum this Mother’s Day.
